A feast of food, wine and jazz

The weekend of 13-15 February 2009 is a great time to visit the Echuca-Moama region, with a range of jazz music, food and wine-related activities planned over the whole weekend as part of the annual Riverboats, Jazz, Food and Wine Festival.

The festival offers an exciting mix of culture and entertainment, all taking in the spectacular vistas of the Murray River. The party starts on the Friday evening, with a number of dinners being held on land and on the riverboats, and doesn’t finish until the Jazz on the Murray feature event at Morrison’s winery on Sunday. Here are some of the activities on offer over the weekend:

-¢ Cruise the majestic Murray River as part of the Riverboat Ramble, with jazz entertainment and local food and wine.

-¢ Sample the region’s wine during the Winery Showcase, with free wine tasting provided by Monichino Wines, The Carriages Vineyard & Cape Horn Vineyard.

-¢ Get a group together for the Winemakers’ Lunch, a sumptuous seven-course feast presented by renowned local restaurant, Oscar W’s Wharfside.

-¢ Treat yourself to the perfect lazy Sunday morning hangover cure, the Big Jazz Breakfast/Brunch at Radcliffe’s.

-¢ Travel by riverboat to the feature event, Jazz on the Murray at Morrison’s, to be held at the picturesque Morrison’s Riverview Winery and Restaurant all Sunday. The event combines a full program of jazz entertainment with outstanding local wines and food.

On top of these special events, there’ll be live entertainment throughout Echuca-Moama’s venues and streets all weekend, as well as great shopping and food from the area’s array of cafes and restaurants.
