Blue humour in a glamorous package
Brent Thorpe, the award winning writer of some of Sydney’s best comedy shows, is back with a new show: Beauty! Glamour! Fame! at The Roxbury Hotel in Glebe on Sunday, September 18 at 8pm.
Beauty! Glamour! Fame! is a riotous romp in the tradition of Benny Hill, Dick Emery and other revered low humourists. Itʼs chock full of profanities, classic Aussie songs and boasts a generous sprinkling of bare bottoms and boobs.
Thorpe’s drag alter ego Brenda Trollope takes us on a mind bending journey through her psyche, creating an epic piece of Australian theatre in which she shares her hopes, fears, dreams
and desires of becoming a famous and glamorous showgirl in Las Vegas starring in her own production of Australia the Musical.
And Brenda isn’t traveling alone. She will be joined on stage by Nathan from the Shire, also known as the Naked Yobbo, played by Richard Cuthbert of Cuthbert and the Nightwalkers fame.
