A VIDEO detailing the 49 victims of the Pulse massacre in Orlando has been released by the Human Rights Campaign.

So often after mass shootings we are given a list of names and statistics, but not necessarily the stories behind them. This video aims to show the human cost of the tragedy, with a group of celebrities taking the opportunity to pay tribute to the people lost, by detailing their lives in a deeply personal way.

Over the film’s heartbreaking 18 minute duration, some of the biggest names in film, television, and music are given the opportunity to speak for the victims – including prominent LGBT figures like Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Colton Haynes, Caitlyn Jenner, Chaz Bono, Anna Paquin, Cheyenne Jackson, and Laverne Cox.

“The hate that stole these 49 individuals from all those who loved them has been allowed to flourish in our country for too long,” the video’s producer Ryan Murphy said in a statement.

“No person is born hating another, and we have an obligation as Americans to stand up against prejudice and bigotry that would incite violence against someone simply for who they are.”

An out pouring of solidarity has swept through the LGBT community since the June 12 tragedy, with vigils conducted in many cities across the world – including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
