Danny Boyle’s new production of Frankenstein, a play by Nick Dear, based on the novel by Mary Shelley, will be captured live in high definition at the National’s Olivier Theatre and broadcast into cinemas in Melbourne from April 9.

Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting, Mansfield Park) will alternate the roles of Victor Frankenstein and The Creature in the production. It’s screening at the Sun Theatre, Yarraville, Cinema Nova and Rosebud Cinemas for a limited number of sessions.
