THE premiere of the hotly anticipated second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars is just around the corner and Logo has just released the first trailer of the series, revealing a massive shake-up in how the game would be played.

For eight seasons of Drag Race and one All Stars season, the worst performing drag queens would have to ‘lip-sync for their lives’ to stay in the competition in the battle to be named America’s next drag superstar.

The show’s premise depends strongly on drama between the contestants, culminating in epic lip-sync battles and many commentators were worried the queens in All Stars 2 would not bring enough drama, as many had become close friends over the years.

In the upcoming All Stars 2, the top performing queens of the week will have to ‘lip-sync for their legacy’ and the winner of the battle would choose which of the other contestants to send home.

According to New Now Next the twist will change the queen’s strategy to win and the group dynamic of the All Star queens.

“Usually the queens just have to impress RuPaul and the judges on the main stage—now Adore Delano, Alaska, Alyssa Edwards, Coco Montrese, Detox, Ginger Minj, Katya, Phi Phi O’Hara, Roxxxy Andrews and Tatianna have to work to impress each other at all times—on and off the stage,” the website reads.

“Honey, nobody can claim that this race is rigged,” RuPaul said in a statement.

“I gave the power to the people. May the best All Star win!”

RuPaul who has been nominated for his first Emmy this year, will be joined by permanent judges Todrick Hall, Carson Kressley and Michelle Visage, with guest judges like Raven-Symone, Ross Mathews, Jeremy Scott, Nicole Scherzinger, Graham Norton and Aubrey Plaza.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 2 begins on August on Logo and VH1 in the United States.
