Forbidden love

The seventh annual AICE Israeli Film Festival will take place in Sydney at select Palace cinemas from August 31 to September 5.

The festival will open with the Academy Award-nominated drama, Ajami, set in the violent, crime-ridden, multi-ethnic Jaffa neighbourhood of the same name.

Also screening at the festival is Eyes Wide Shut (pictured), a tense, slow-burning story about a secret affair between two men in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox Mea Shearim neighbourhood.
