Getting hot in the kitchen
This year’s Spanish Film Festival is taking a decidedly queer turn, with gay romantic comedy Chef’s Special screening as the opening night film.
The heartwarming, hilarious comedy of errors looks at the relationship between an openly gay chef (Javier Camara) and his closeted ex-footballer neighbour (Benjamin Vicuna).
The film screens at the Opening Night at Palace Cinemas in Leichhardt on May 6, followed by the opening night fiesta with tapas, drinks and Spanish entertainment.
Javier Camara will attend a screening on May 8 at Palace Academy Twin, which will be followed by an in-person Q&A with the Spanish star.

This film is also showing at the Academy Twin, Paddington, on Friday, 8 May at 6.30 pm. This session is much cheaper than the opening night one. It also has a Q&A session with the star.
