Girls slide in to town

Slide Bar is becoming renowned for its live performances and cabaret shows. On Thursday 28 August a group of sexy women known as the Six Quick Chicks will dazzle Slide’s clientele with a new show.

Since their successful season at the Riverside Theatre in Parramatta during the Mardi Gras Festival, it’s not surprising that the group is performing on the Oxford St strip.

This time the group is taking on maximum hilarity as their theme and they hope to impress the GLBT community.

Queer audiences have especially shown a huge amount of appreciation for the work of our girls, show director Vashti Hughes said.

The audience will see six very talented girls doing 10-minute character-based cabaret acts during an hour-long show.

The chicks are using this new show at Slide as an opportunity to create brand new material, including some foot juggling, satanic showdowns with Telstra, and hot new outfits.

The group also shares a willingness to skate on thin ice when it comes to making social comments, and is willing to embrace inappropriateness with entertainment gusto.

Each chick never ceases to amaze me in their sense of the absurd, Hughes said.

Hatched on Planet Queer, seen in their irreverence, their wit, and spectacular enjoyment of political incorrectness -” they are not backward at coming forward.

Dinner from 7pm and show is from 8.45pm. Tickets are $60 (dinner + show) or $20 (show only). Bookings at www.slide.com.au or 8915 1899.
