Disco legend Leo Sayer is set to join musical acts BABBA and the Topp Twins as the headliner for March’s Disco Stampede-themed ChillOut Festival.

Taking to the stage on Carnival Day, Sunday March 8, Sayer’s appearance at the festival will be one of his first as an Australian citizen, having taken the citizenship oath on Australia Day at a ceremony attended by Kevin Rudd.

Sayer is considered one of the icons of disco music from the -˜70s.

He moved to Sydney in 2005 and still calls our city home.

On 12 February 2006, he made a surprise return to number one in the UK singles chart, with Meck’s remix of Thunder In My Heart. It was his first appearance in the UK Top 10 for almost 24 years, and his second UK chart-topper, almost three decades after his first. He has also appeared in the Australian television comedy, Stupid, Stupid Man.
