High note for Low Rez

High note for Low Rez

After sell-out performances of their last two shows, Melbourne’s only male pop choir Low Rez will return to the stage in December to perform their final concert for 2011.

Beautiful is a concert of songs written, co-written and performed by women. Under the direction of noted mezzo-soprano Ursula Paez and accompanied on piano by Geoff Urquhart, Low Rez will celebrate and pay tribute to female artists with a showcase of hits from Ellie Greenwich, Joni Mitchell, Adele and Katy Perry.

The concert will feature choreographed numbers and a guest appearance by Melbourne Singers of Gospel at their December 3 concert, to perform the pop-gospel hit Shackles by Mary, Mary.

“Audiences are sure to walk away feeling beautiful and with hearts inspired,” Low Rez president Bruce Mortimer said.

Established three years ago at the St Kilda Parish Mission church, Low Rez now numbers more than 40 men.

This year the choir added another feather to its cap, appearing in a flash mob television promo for Channel 11’s Neighbours.

Beautiful is at James Tatoulis Auditorium, Methodist Ladies’ College, Kew on Saturday, December 3, 8pm and Sunday, December, 3pm.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 concession, which includes a welcome refreshment and a souvenir program.
