Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin

Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin

Just weeks after it was announced that Kathy Griffin will play a Sarah Palin-inspired character on TV show Glee, another famous red head will take on the role of the former vice presidential candidate herself in an upcoming HBO movie.

Game Change, based on the bestselling book of the same name by John Heilemann and Mark Halperinon, will revolve John McCain’s unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2008, specifically his selection of then Alaskan Governor Palin as his running mate and their eventual election loss.

It comes as anticipation mounts in the US over whether Palin will make a tilt at the presidency in the 2012 election. Since her defeat in 2008, Palin has written a number of bestselling books and become a contributor for the Fox News network.

Moore is the first to be cast in the production which will be directed by Jay Roach, with a script written by Danny Strong.

So, what do Star Observer readers think of the selection? Is there a resemblance? Have your say below.

  1. Julianne Moore is brilliant. I thought the producers would try to cast a comedian, but instead the casting directors found talent. Sarah Palin should be worried. Sarah Palin will not be President of the United States if Julianne Moore can add truth to her performance as Palin.
