Now the girls are getting it out

Entertainers Emma Powell and Bev Killick are so adept at getting their breasts out, their new show has been compared to a female version of Puppetry of the Penis.

Sound appealing? Then make sure you catch the Sydney debut of Busting Out later this month.

The production is divided into two acts -” Foreplay and The Full Caboodle. In the first half Killick will stir the crowd’s imagination with a slapstick comedy routine. But the second act, according to Powell, is all about breasts and a celebration of the diversity of the female form.

We show, don’t tell and do tit bits and tit skits, Powell told Sydney Star Observer.

Women’s boobs have traditionally belonged to their children or their partners, but through Busting Out we believe we’ve given women the permission to take back the bosom, giving them something they can do by themselves for themselves.

When putting the script together I really wanted people to laugh, and yes, I really don’t mind people laughing at my boobs! I love making people laugh.

Just like the array of dick tricks made famous via Puppetry of the Penis, Busting Out is making famous a string of boob moves like The Donut, The Sniffer Dog, The Baby and even The Vagina.

We’ve made sure we do the tricks that don’t hurt because we have to do them between six to eight times a week -” although I’ve bruised myself on occasion because I get a bit excited, Powell said.

The show opens at the Parade Theatre in Kensington on Wednesday 22 October for a limited season before making stops at the Casula Powerhouse on 29 October, the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith on 3 November and then to Riverside Theatres at Parramatta on 4 November.

Despite all the touring and the laughing, Powell said at the end of the day she wanted to create a show that said, You are who you are, and who you are is perfect.

I think I have achieved this as we have women constantly telling us after the show that they feel better about themselves and their breasts and how wonderful it is to have a good laugh about what goes up must come down, she said.

We certainly don’t soapbox the message. It’s just something that drives the subject matter.
