Shattering stereotypes

Video artist Amelia Tovey and her Seattle-based collaborator, photographer Molly Landreth, are using intimate photographic and video portraits to give an insider’s view of American queer life in their documentary, Embodiment: A Portrait of Queer Life in America. Next year, the artists will release one short film and several photographs per week on the project website. They are currently seeking support to make Embodiment available for free on the internet. They aim to raise at least $US10,000 toward finalising film production, creating an appropriate web platform and officially launching the project in 2011. Donations can be made until July 6, 2010.
