
Through the looking glass
Philip Glass, founding father of minimalism and cult icon of modern music, celebrates his 75th birthday this year. The Sydney Chamber Opera will celebrate by staging Glass’ opera, In the Penal Colony, based on Franz Kafka’s short story about torture and execution. It’s playing from April 7 – 14 at the Parade Theatre, Kensington.
