Trans issues on show at IFF
The Indian Film Festival – Bollywood and Beyond is an annual celebration of Indian cinema in all its forms, taking place in Melbourne until June 22 and in Sydney, June 24 – July 4. Queer-themed highlights of this year’s festival include the doco Beauty and Brains, which looks at members of Nepal’s third-gender community, and Pakistani drama Bol, which explores the tensions created in a religious family by money, the role of women and a transsexual son.
