MELBOURNE’S iconic queer bookshop Hares & Hyenas is hosting its first live music festival throughout July.

The Leaps and Bounds Yarra Live Music Festival will see talented local acts playing fantastic new and old music, from hip hot to roots to pop.

Featured musicians in this inaugural festival include singer-songwriter Margret RoadKnight, Matt Doll from pop band The Mavis’s, and electronic goth-pop act Der Kreis.

Anyone can take the stage for open mic night ContraVerse, headlined by author Angela Meyer and band The Newport Dolls.
