WHAT’S ON: Bard on the Beach

BARD On The Beach will this week present William Shakespeare’s powerful and thought-provoking The Tragedy of Hamlet, and the black and absurdly acute comedy Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard.

Bard On The Beach (BOTB) provides an intrinsic Sydney summer experience: classical theatre the way it was meant to be – raw, traditional, honest and entertaining, while picnicking under the stars as the waves roll on the sand behind you.

2016 is an exciting year for BOTB, with two new venues around Sydney and an inaugural collaboration with the Spectrum Now Festival.

Its 2016 season begins on Friday, January 15 at the Balmoral Beach Band Rotunda, and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night until February 28. This will be followed by a weekend on the Northen Beaches at Dunbar Park, Avalon on March 4, 5 and 6. Finally, Hamlet comes to The Greek Theatre at Addison Road Community Centre, Marrickville, on March 11 to March 19.
