Kylie Minogue has said reports that she and Madonna will duet during an upcoming ITV television special are simply rumours.

British tabloids claimed the pop star would duet with sister Dannii, Nick Cave, Jason Donavan and Madonna in a special for K25 anniversary celebrations.

Minogue took to Twitter to deny the story last week.

“It’s just a rumour, but of course it would be amazing!! maybe one day,” she wrote.

Despite both Madonna and Minogue having have worn T-shirts with each other’s names on in the past, this would have been the first time they had performed together.

Minogue has hinted at a series of major events during 2012 to mark her 25-years in the music industry.
