A dedicated bunch of hard workers did their bit for this year’s Red Ribbon Day at Paddington RSL on Sunday.

The volunteers churned their way through metre upon metre of ribbon to produce almost 40,000 little ribbons.

“We had about 200 volunteers which averages out at about 200 ribbons per person,” ACON events manager David Wilkins said.

“It was a great effort and a fun day. Many thanks to all the volunteers for contributing to such an outstanding result.

“Thanks also to Carmen Geddit for the shows, DJ Bruce Dixon for the tunes, to The Catering Specialists for the food and to the Paddington RSL for the venue.

“We’re now keen to get more volunteers to sell the ribbons as part of our Red Ribbon Appeal during AIDS Awareness Week in the last week of November.”

info: To register as a red ribbon seller phone Alberto on 9206 2024 or aduran@acon.org.au.
