A little pampering can go a long way and M.A.C Cosmetics, in their annual World AIDS Day support efforts, will send an army of makeup artist volunteers to pamper those on the frontline of HIV/AIDS support fundraising.
Makeup artists from M.A.C Cosmetics stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will donate their time to indulge volunteers putting in the hard yards for local HIV/AIDS charities on December 1 with a make-over.
The activity is also being rolled out in 24 countries on the day.
M.A.C Cosmetics Australia senior artist Nicole Thompson said the idea is to spoil those making a difference on World AIDS Day.
“Volunteering and giving back to the HIV/AIDS community has always been a source of pride at M.A.C,” Thompson said.
In Sydney, M.A.C makeup artists will visit the Sydney Children’s Hospital in support of Camp Goodtime, a national camp for children and families living with HIV.
In Melbourne, makeup artists will pamper volunteers from the Victorian AIDS Council. The VAC has received over $900,000 in grants from the M.A.C AIDS Fund since 1998.
With Christmas around the corner, M.A.C has also developed Cards of Hope, Christmas cards designed by children affected by HIV/AIDS. Cards are on sale at M.A.C outlets and all proceeds go to pediatric HIV children’s organisations.
All profits from every M.A.C VIVA GLAM Lip Kit sold during the year, retailing at around $80, are donated to HIV charity organisations.
The M.A.C AIDS Fund was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affect by HIV/AIDS around the world. Since then the fund has raised over $US150 million through the sale of its VIVA GLAM lipstick and lip gloss alone.
