Sam's grandfather played trumpet with Stan Kenton, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra, wrote and arranged music for film and TV and, when 80 years of age, started the Ozcats jazz band, a tribute to the legendary Bob Crosby and the Bobcats.
