Bears on film

Calling all Bears with a penchant for the silver screen! Bear Men of Adelaide have announced the inagural Golden Woofs, the world’s first international Bear short film competition.

Any short film made by or about Bears is eligible to win the $500 cash prize for best film. Finalists will be screened at a gala screening in Adelaide during Bearstock 2009 in November, where the winner will be announced and the prize awarded.

We are keen to encourage Bears from all over the world to have a go and enter the Golden Woofs – it’s not hard, all you need is a camera, an idea and a few sexy Bears, Bear Men of Adelaide events co-ordinator Eric Kuhlmann said.

We are keen to foster a culture of creativity within the broader Bear community, both within Australia and internationally, and the Golden Woofs is just one way we are doing this.

Films can be any of genre (from erotica to animation), but must be less than 12 minutes long. Entrants will be judged on three independent criteria -“ positive representation of Bears, film making craft, and entertainment value.

Sound GRR-reat? Then you’d better put your thinking cap on – entries must be received by November 2.
