The Community Brave Foundation has announced a series of initiatives to coincide with the National Day of Action Against Bullying today.

The announcements include a Lady Gaga tribute video release, the launch details of the Foundation’s website and a national call for Community Brave mentors.

It follows the success of the Foundation’s first online video, a Kylie Minogue tribute which has received over 13,400 views since Friday.

Launched in February, the Foundation is a specialised community group working to lower the alarmingly high rate of suicide amongst LGBTIQ youth.

It’s a collaborative community project aimed at nullifying cyber-bullying, homophobia, transphobia and youth suicide through online support, inspiring videos and a mentoring program.

As a continuation of the theme established with their first video, You’re Disco Needs You, Community Brave will be paying tribute to Lady Gaga with their second video, Born This Way. The video was shot at the recent Mardi Gras Parade and will feature community members encouraging young LGBTIQ’s to be brave and be themselves. The video will be released on the Community Brave website and social media on Friday.

The Foundation’s website also launched today, and features both the Kylie and Gaga Videos.

The website will continue to post videos, attempt to connect with the community through social media and also register to become mentors with their mentoring program.

You can now register to be a part of their mentoring program which will help youths both online and offline, share their experiences, provide advice, assist with career/study/life choices. The foundation’s training is supported by the LGBTIQ youth organisation Twenty10.
