Calling all artists

Calling all artists

In the lead-up to the fifth annual Pyrmont Arts Festival on Sunday, May 15, Darlinghurst’s TAP Gallery is putting out a public call for artworks to be exhibited on the day in the Pyrmont Art Prize.

Organisers are anticipating more than 200 new artworks will go on display for the prize, with more than $10,000 worth of prizes to be won. A collection of prominent judges will award the works, with a People’s Choice Award to be presented from the attending public.

All artists are invited to enter the art prize. As befits the theme ‘Small is Beautiful’, all artworks must be 12’x12’ in size, with canvases available from TAP Gallery. The entry fee of $20/$15 concession includes a canvas.

Artists must deliver their works to the TAP Gallery by Sunday, May 8.

The festival will be held in Pirrama Park at the old Police Water site, which the City of Sydney has recently converted for public use.

As well as the Pyrmont Art Prize, the arts festival will include food, wine, music from classical music students, street theatre and local musicians who will perform all day in conjunction with the Mudgee Food and Wine Fair.
