This Queen’s Birthday long weekend will no doubt see many in our northern region communities choosing to either party at home or travel afar for other offerings. Remember to pack all your safe sex supplies and take care of each other.

Mixed Fruits has returned to the Hunter after a short break. Their next monthly get-together at Boulevard on Beaumont, Hamilton is 29 May from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and every last Friday after that. Entry is by gold coin donation. For more info visit rainbowvisions.org.au.

Rainbow Visions is calling for expressions of interest for a shopping trip to Parklea Markets. The date proposed is 19 September and will be a fundraiser for their annual GLBT festival. The trip will be full of raffles, giveaways and, of course, shopping. Seats are limited so email Justin at [email protected] by 19 June.

Join the -˜Drive for Diversity’ car rally on 21 June and get the chance to put your same-sex support statements on the thisisoz website.

Post-partying is a good time to check your health at the sexual health clinic at Port Macquarie Health Campus. Holden St Clinic in Gosford also provides a men’s clinic every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. Call them on 4320 2114. In the Hunter, the friendly staff from Pacific Clinic offer sexual health checks at ACON, Islington every Thursday from 1pm to 5pm. Just drop in.
