Get tied up with SLPA

The Sydney Leather Pride Association this week hosts Ropes 101, a workshop which will combine theory and practical demonstrations.

The two-hour session, to be held on Thursday, April 28, will cover the basic knots and restraint methods, tips on planning a scene and dealing with a problem. You can bring along a partner or friend to share the thrill, though it is not essential. Practice ropes will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Register for the workshop — $10 SLPA members, $15 non-members — via the SLPA website. Booking is essential. The venue for the event will be advised upon registration.

The competition to find a logo to replace SLPA’s current one (which is being phased out due to trademark conflicts with the Sydney Opera House) closes on April 30. A new design is required that does not rely only on the Opera House image.

The winning entry will receive $300 cash, two tickets to Inquisition 2011, a merchandise pack featuring the new logo and two years’ paid membership to SLPA. Submission details are available from www.sydneyleatherpride.org
