Informing older GLBT people

The 2-hour ‘Older GLBT people and the law’ information session, to be held on Wednesday June 16, will provide free general legal information on important legal issues faced by older gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Topics up for discussion at the session, which will be held from 6pm-8pm at the Hotel Gearin in Katoomba, include planning ahead for old age (wills, enduring powers of attorney and enduring guardian appointments) and the legal status of same-sex relationships in Australia in 2010.

There will be an opportunity for questions and answers as well a chance to make an appointment with a local solicitor to confidentially discuss your individual circumstances.

While the session is free, places are strictly limited so RSVP is essential: call ACON on 02 9206 2000 or 1800 063 060 to do so.

If you can’t make it to the Katoomba event, another session will be held on from 4pm on Friday June 25 at the Rex Centre in Kings Cross.
