Jazzed for research

The Rotary Club of Sydney in supporting the early detection and reduction of HIV/AIDS with a fundraising event, Jazz at The Lakes.

The cocktail party is in support of Dr Damian Conway’s three-year research project in association with the Sydney club, the Kirby Institute and Australian Rotary Health.

Conway is investigating rapid, minimally-invasive testing for HIV.

“The provision of an accurate test which can provide rapid HIV results at the point of care, in the clinic or in the field, is a major step forward in international effort to provide universal access to HIV care,” Conway said.

The fundraising event will be taking place on Saturday, August 18, between 7pm-11pm, at Lakes Golf Club, East Lakes.

Tickets are $65 which includes canapes and a drinks package.

There is also an auction and entertainment by the John Edward Quartet.
