Lobby needs your help for festival

The NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) has started planning for what should be another fun-filled Mardi Gras season.

The Lobby is calling out to members of the community to assist it with during what is a very busy, but exciting time for the organisation.

It will hold a number of fundraising events during the season, including the annual donation drive on Oxford St, Fair Day and running cloakrooms at parties during the season. Volunteers at the party events should receive a free ticket and are able to enjoy the party once they have completed their shift.

This year’s parade float for the GLRL will be The Yellow Brick Road to Equality, which will draw creative inspiration from the movie classic The Wizard of Oz.

All these events go a long way to helping the GLRL spread its message, and ensuring it has the funding to continue campaigning for legislative equality and social justice.

info: The Mardi Gras season volunteer information night is on Tuesday 18 January from 6pm at ACON in Commonwealth St, Surry Hills. To register email [email protected] or just attend on the night.
