Raise funds with a high tea

The Garvan Research Foundation is encouraging people to pull out their best china, dust off the cake stand, bake or buy some tasty treats, and host a high tea to raise funds for Australian medical research in September.

By inviting friends, family or colleagues to a Garvan High Tea, and asking guests for a donation, you can help to fund research into the prevention and cure of major diseases including cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, osteoporosis, asthma, and other immune disorders.

To host a Garvan High Tea, choose a date and venue and register at www.giving.garvan.org.au/hightea to create your personal fundraising page.

Invitations, menu cards, donation and collection forms, recipes and thank-you notes can also be found on the website.

Garvan Research Foundation CEO Andrew Giles said hosting a Garvan High Tea was a fun and rewarding way to help Garvan reach its ultimate goal — the prevention and cure of major diseases.

“For every dollar Garvan researchers receive in Government funding, we need to find another 70 cents to ensure the future progress of these vital research projects.”
