Last month saw another successful Rainbow Festival held in the Hunter. Rainbow Visions community group are now looking towards activities for 2009 and will be holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday 29 November at the Gateway Hotel, Islington from 1pm.

If you want to make a difference within the Hunter GLBT community and would like to meet new people, please nominate yourself for the Rainbow Visions management committee. Several committee positions will be vacant and they need your involvement to fill them. With World AIDS Day (WAD) fast approaching, ACON is hosting Red Party at the Gateway Hotel, Maitland Rd, Islington on Saturday 29 November. This event is a dance party to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. Entry is free and patrons are encouraged to wear red -¦ and buy a red ribbon on the night.

On the mid-North Coast, ACON’s Outreach Service has settled into their new home at Shop 3, 146-150 Gordon St, Port Macquarie. Coastal Lynx are hosting the HIV Community Support Fund Dance at Westport Bowling Club in Port Macquarie on Saturday 8 November.

Entry is $12 for members and $15 non-members. The dance starts at 6.30pm and runs till late, with drag shows, raffles and an auction. All proceeds from the night will go to the HIV Community Support Fund. For more details call ACON 0428 445 619.

The educational and social support group, Positive Outcomes Symposium, will meet in Port Macquarie at 6pm on Wednesday 12 November for red ribbon making for WAD. On Tuesday 11 November a similar educational and social support group starting in Coffs Harbour will gather for its second meet and greet. For further details on either call Glenn on 0427 658 878.
