Mongrel, a night inspired by fotballer Matthew Johns and his mates, will bring a new gay twist to the social scene. Starting this Saturday 4 July, the monthly club night will hit Phoenix for all the queer boofheads, blokes and ratbags.

Hot DJ forces Steve Sonius and Ben Drayton have teamed up and promise to bring a night of the hottest hairy-chested and funk-driven beats around.

It’s a bit of group bonding and blokey good fun, said DJ Ben Drayton. [It’s for] whoever likes hairy chests, legs and arses.

The DJs are known for their popular sets at Bad Bog, Sleaze Ball and Inquisition but it’s their sweatier nights at Phoenix which cause all the hype.

Kicking off at 10pm, the DJs invite everyone to wear their sexiest footy shorts to receive $5 off the cover charge. For a night of bottom-heavy tunes, and hot and sweaty men, check yourself into the -˜sin bin’ known as Mongrel.

info: Mongrel is on this Saturday 4 July at Phoenix from 10pm. The event is then at the venue every first Saturday of the month. Entry is $15 or $10 in footy shorts.
