Trust and honesty starts with the individual

For close to three years Julie Mackenzie and Joey Middleton have been going strong.
Mackenize is the creator of Sundaylicious and she smiles knowing that in a small way, her weekend party played a role – but says it was more a lucky coincidence that related to the Sunday parties at the Wharf Hotel in Melbourne.
Mackenzie says it was all about hers and Middleton’s own personal preparedness to trust and be honest with themselves that made all the difference, with her telling the Star Observer: “I think you first need to do it yourself as an individual and that creates an honest and trustworthy relationship. If you can do it yourself another quality person will respond in same manner.”
She also completely agreed with concept that “two people that trust each other and are honest with each other that act in goodwill, can pretty much take over the world” with her adding with a healthy laugh: “There is strength in numbers, isn’t that the saying?”
When talking about their relationship, Mackenzie spoke with fondness of her love for Middleton: “Having someone back you no matter is just such a wonderful feeling. Having that person – no matter what happens during the day – give you a safe haven when you come home really is special.”
The quality of a good relationship is having a mix MacKenzie says, adding: “It is so important. You have got to have the laughter; having a best friend and being able to share in a relationship all the emotions you have in yourself without judgement. It makes for fulfilling relationship and that is what Joey and I have with each other. I love it and love her”.
Mackenzie was keen to add something about her other love, which is the next Sundaylicious, that is on March 9 over the long weekend at The Wharf Hotel. Mackenzie says: “Sundaylicious is a super friendly, super successful monthly event caters for the LGBTIQ community, and everyone is welcome.”
