A chance meeting cherished this Valentine’s Day

Heath Keating met Johan Khoury by chance at The Ivy in Sydney, where Khoury was celebrating his birthday.

The Sydney couple are well known, with Khoury being a respected party promoter and Heath Keating a well known dancer and instructor. Despite them both living the society lifestyle, they hadn’t met, which surprised Khoury.

“It was really odd that I have never seen or heard of him and he had never seen or heard of me,” Khoury explained.

“It was my birthday and I had been on a yacht all day and then ended up at The Ivy.”

Khoury added with a laugh: “He was my birthday present at the end of the night.”

Being part of the busy nightlife and Sydney scene can have its risks and pressures and Khoury and Keating manage it carefully. Khoury said: “Because we work in the industry and we understand it, we understand each other’s line of work. We tend dive into the scene and go in and out of it when we need to.

“So we tend to withdraw from the scene when we need to. We get out of it what suits our relationship and that doesn’t consume us, which it can do in our industry.

“We have a balance of work-wise, social-wise and what your relationship gets out of it.”

Staying fit and active and training together is also really important to the couple, especially the gym.

“We love going to the gym. We love training together, on the same training program,” Khoury said.

“He is my best friend. My best buddy. We spend time together, we communicate. I love time with my family and I love socialising. Sharing my life with Heath is just perfect. I wish him a happy Valentine’s Day as he is currently in Melbourne with Grease.”

  1. Don’t waste your life hating. Was a nice story and some of you have tried to rip it to shreds. I hope you find the happiness you seek. Apparently you’re not there yet.

  2. Where’s the story of me and my man? Been together 14 years, have a mortgage and 4 dogs 2 cats! If 2 guys from inner city get a story what about 2 poofs from Penrith? Sheesh!

  3. Oh hooray. Typically beautiful people met each other at a club and now go to the gym and have sex with each other. What a worthy and inspiring news story. Meanwhile, a Russian same sex couple became Australian citizens today, people are feeling oppressed that on a day all about love they cannot express their love out of fear and oh, about a million other things are happening that a news source could report on.

  4. I agree with the other comments…So what? Why do these guys get a story about their love? I mean, good for them but how about getting a love story of people who aren’t in the gaystream? Yawn…
