Celebrating gender diversity

Celebrating gender diversity

Still Fierce, Sydney’s intersex, sex and/or gender diverse collective, will hold a picnic on April 26 to celebrate the second International Sex and/or Gender Diversity Day.

The ‘No-labels’ picnic follows on from last year’s inaugural event, celebrating the first annual Diversity Day. Each year, sex and/or gender diverse people are encouraged to have picnics, tea parties, festivals or gatherings, inviting their family, friends and allies to join them.

The event, to be held at the Camperdown Memorial Rest Park from 11am-4pm, is planned as a ‘celebration of intersex, sex and/or gender diverse folks — a space to build and create networks’. It is open to people who are intersex, sex and/or gender diverse, and their families, friends, and supporters.

There will be live music and activity spaces, and attendees are encouraged to bring whatever they feel like contributing, such as food, drink or musical instruments. There will be information available about the planned May 11 intersex sex and/or gender diverse rally in Canberra, with Still Fierce members on hand to answer questions.

Organisers and performers are still needed. If you’d like to get involved, contact Still Fierce at [email protected]
