Olivia to sparkle once again

Olivia to sparkle once again

Fresh from her stunning Mardi Gras performance earlier this year, Olivia Newton-John is returning to Sydney for special one-off night of music and fun to raise money for the singer’s planned cancer research facility.

Under the leadership of musical director Guy Noble and director Drew Anthony, a host of Australian and international music stars will join Newton-John on stage on 30 September for an unforgettable night of music and song to bring down the curtain on the inaugural Good Music Month festival at Sydney’s State Theatre.

The line-up includes Christine Anu, Carl Barron, Daryl Braithwaite, Kate Ceberano, Chantelle Delaney, Tim Freedman, Mark Gable (The Choirboys), Todd McKenney, Ian Moss, Paulini, Carl Riseley, Melinda Schneider, James Reyne, Guy Sebastian, Tempus, Axle Whitehead and the Brent Street Dancers along with the 25-piece State Symphony Orchestra.

The night will raise money for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre Appeal. The funds will go towards providing a world-class cancer centre dedicated to providing the very best of care to cancer patients, an integrated research facility in the search for new treatments and ultimately a cure for all cancers.

It follows Newton-John’s recent extraordinary fundraising efforts when she and her supporters walked the Great Wall of China.

Three of the gala performers joined Olivia on the recent charity walk -” James Reyne, Melinda Schneider and Chantelle Delaney.

I was inspired to join the walk after losing my father to lung cancer four years ago, one-time Mardi Gras participant Schneider said.

Supporting my dad through his illness has made me want to help and support others.

Reyne said supporting Newton-John’s appeal was vital.

Olivia Newton-John needs your help to change the way cancer is treated around the world and find a cure, he said.
