ChillOut annouces second stage

Party-goers at ChillOut’s 2011 Carnival Day on Sunday, March 13 can look forward to the introduction of a second stage at the principal event of the gay and lesbian country festival this year.

The addition of another performance venue means that attendees will have an even greater choice of entertainment, including the likes of Lee Rosser (pictured), who’ll headline the acts on the day.

The second stage line-up will include performers such as Cyndi Boste, who is no stranger to ChillOut.

“She is a favourite and rightly so — her music is contemporary with a blues and country flavour and she is loved for her guitar playing, her lyrics and her beautiful voice,” ChillOut president Michael Brady said.

“She also lives locally and the ChillOut committee is keen to make sure we include local performers at the festival.”

Other talents appearing on the second stage include Dirty Lucy (Nicole Brophy and Jodie Moore). Dirty Lucy have shared stages with the like of the Waifs, the John Butler Trio, the Whitlams and iOTA.

This will mark their first time at ChillOut, having previously played their acoustic folk/rock music at popular festivals across Australia.

The main stage will be MCed by regular favourites Dolly Diamond and Luke Gallagher.

“The great thing about Dolly and Luke is that they are ultimate professionals and very entertaining performers. Everything goes smoothly, they are very funny, clever and everyone loves them,” Brady said.

“I think we have managed to find a very good mix of the new along with the tried and tested at Carnival.”

Further details of the Carnival Day entertainment line-up will be released over the next two weeks.

This year’s festival theme is Bollywood in the Bush.
