DANNII Minogue has just been announced as the latest act to join the line-up of performers for the upcoming Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Party.

Her performance at the party, which will take place directly after the iconic Parade on March 7, will mark 16 years since the younger Minogue sister (picture above) graced its stage.

Minogue — whose recording music career began in 1990 — has reportedly been working on some new music for the past few years. Her last album, Club Disco, was released in 2007.

She has spent the last decade managing her own fashion line and judging on TV shows Australia’s Got Talent and the local and UK versions of X Factor.

Mardi Gras chief executive Michael Rolik was pleased to welcome Minogue back, three years after Kylie Minogue made a grand return herself and performed to a sold out crowd.

“Dannii is one of the community’s most treasured performers and always knows how to deliver a stand out performance,” Rolik said.

The latest announcement comes a week after Mardi Gras confirmed American singers Nick Jonas and Jake Shears would perform live at the Party, alongside multi-platinum Australian female vocalist Jessica Mauboy, RuPaul’s Drag Race top three finalist Courtney Act, and emerging stars Betty Who and Destiny Haz Arrived.

Shears, who is best known as the frontman for the Scissor Sisters, will also perform live at The Beresford Hotel for a one-off performance on March 5.

Meanwhile, yesterday Samantha Jade was confirmed as the latest act in the line-up for Harbour Party, which takes place a week before the Parade and Party on February 28.

Samantha Jade is the latest performer to join the line-up for this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Harbour Party.

The 2012 X Factor Australia winner will join Canadian singer/songwriter Kiesza, Bimbo Jones fronted by Lee Dagger (UK), and Australian DJs Kitty Glitter, Dan Murphy, and DJ Du Jour.

Jade — who has a few platinum singles under her belt — is also no stranger to Mardi Gras, having been one of the headline acts at the 2014 Party.

  1. Obviously performers Mardi Gras can get for free will top performers of talent any day. And they wonder why their parties are in decline. Who is programming these events? This is a joke. Glad I held off purchasing a ticket.
