JK Rowling’s epic burn on the Westboro Baptist Church who threatened to picket fictional gay wedding

BEST-selling author JK Rowling has publicly slammed the controversial Westboro Baptist Church (WPC) after they challenged a social media movement to have fictional wizards Dumbledore of her Harry Potter series and Lord Of The Rings’ Gandalf married in Ireland after the legalisation of same-sex marriage.

 

  After she tweeted a meme (above) celebrating the change in equality laws in Ireland, WPC went on the attack and claimed they would picket the fictional wedding ceremony.  

 

As a long standing advocate for LGBTI rights, Rowling defended the union of the fictional characters:

 

She further cited that people of influence need to speak out against homophobic hate speech.

This is not the first time Rowling has stepped forward in support of gay rights:
