Ellen responds to homophobic pastor by celebrating her “gay agenda”

TALK show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres has delivered a smackdown response to an article published in the Christian Post accusing Hollywood of having a “gay agenda”.

Pastor Larry Tomczak cites shows such as Glee, Modern Family, and The Biggest Loser for featuring same sex couples or openly-gay personalities as evidence of “how Hollywood is promoting homosexuality right now”.

He also targets DeGeneres for “[celebrating] her lesbianism and ‘marriage’ in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls”.

“Okay, let’s just break this down,” DeGeneres began in the opening monologue of her eponymous show.

“First of all, I’m not ‘married’. I’m married. That’s all, that’s all.”

She proceeded to “celebrate her lesbianism” by pulling out a party popper and letting fly quips at Tomczak.

His article, titled “Are you aware of the avalanche of gay programming assaulting your home?” also provides a list of steps to combat the influx of gay TV, including encouraging children to watch Little House on the Prairie and following up on programs with “a quick moment of instruction” to preserve the “innocent and impressionable children”.

“Larry, the only way I’m trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another,” Ellen said in response.

With the aid of a swirling vortex, she addressed the youth of the world.

“I want you to live your lives, being exactly who you are. Be true to yourselves,” she said.

“And now, audience, look into my vortex and dance with me.”

DeGeneres, who came out on the 1997 cover of Time magazine, has been married to Australian actress Portia de Rossi since August 2008.
