Kylie kicks off world tour
SPOLIER ALERT
Kylie kicked off her Aphrodite world tour in the Danish town of Herning last night in front of a capacity crowd of 12,000 spectators.
The big budget extravaganza – the stage alone reportedly cost $25 million – draws heavily on Greek mythology with the pop goddess rocking a series of Dolce & Gabbana designed goddess outfits against a stage that features pillars, fountains and lots of semi-naked men. Well, it is a Kylie show after all.
A clip of the opening number (below) has already appeared on YouTube and it’s every bit as spectacular as we’ve come to expect from the glamorous 42-year-old.
She emerges from a gold clam (picture at top of post) before belting out a pitch perfect rendition of her UK number one album’s title track.
Details of the setlist have also emerged.
Many of her old favourites are represented – Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Better The Devil You Know and Slow – as well as the majority of her new album.
As yet there has been no announcement of Australian dates but rumours of late July/early August trip home are starting to circulate.
