Girls Week returns

Girls Week returns

Turtle Cove Beach Resort will host Girls Week in October, after a nearly three-year absence from the calendar at the gay and lesbian venue in far north Queensland.

Long-time staff member Sharon will host the event and has been passionate about keeping the tradition of Girls Week alive.

Some of the activities planned include a welcome cocktail party, a BBQ/bonfire night, trip to the Great Barrier Reef, pole dancers, a swim at Mossman Gorge, water games, quad biking, sumo suit competitions, and a party with entertainment on the Saturday night.

The four-night deal includes accommodation, return airport coach transfers, daily tropical continental breakfast and three-course dinner, a $100 bar tab, and the activity trips for $1080 per person, twin share.

The beachfront resort, halfway between Cairns and Port Douglas, has become one of the country’s most successful gay and lesbian vacation spots since it was bought in 1993. In 2009 it was purchased by new owners who are renovating the premises, and continue to honour the gay and lesbian heritage and spirit of the hotel.

Girls Week will run October 7-11, and early bird specials will apply to bookings.
