Madonna, Macklemore celebrate same love at the Grammys
THE 2014 Grammys saw a heartfelt mash-up performed by Best New Artist winners Macklemore and Ryan Lewis along with Mary Lambert and Madonna before a mass wedding ceremony.
Officiated by Queen Latifah in front of an applauding star-studded audience that was beamed to television sets around the world, over 30 straight and gay couples celebrated their love by exchanging nuptials.
The ceremony took place during a live performance of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’s same-sex marriage anthem Same Love mashed with Madonna’s Open Your Heart.
The newlywed couples were then lead out of the venue by a marching band to a standing ovation celebrating diversity in love.
