Survey finds one in 10 access social media during sex

IN a recent Galaxy survey commissioned by condom manufacturer Durex, it has been found that about one in 10 Australians checked their phone’s social media apps during sex.

Thirteen per cent of those surveyed also admitted to being distracted during sex to answer an important phone call in some way.

Of the 1004 respondents, the survey also found that one third said their partner had been distracted by some form of technology.

The study went further to find that 49 per cent of people admitting to using their phones in bed at night and two-thirds preferring to communicate with their partner on social media platforms rather than in a more direct fashion.

Durex commissioned the research as part a campaign to get people to abandon their phones during Earth Hour for couples to “reconnect with their partner”.
