A new weekly Friday farmers markets will begin tomorrow just down from Oxford St at the square at Cook + Phillip Park, corner William and College streets.

The Hawkesbury Harvest Farmers & Fine Food Market will offer City residents and
workers access to the freshest local fresh food and fine produce from across the
Sydney basin.

The markets will be launched tomorrow at 11am with live entertainment by Waiting for Guinness, and open every future friday from 10am to 2:30pm.

“These new markets will be a welcome addition to the Sydney CBD, providing a lively
place for people to shop, relax and enjoy fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, wine and a
range of local produce,” said City of Sydney Creative Director Gill Minervini.

The markets are a partnership between the City of Sydney and Hawkesbury Harvest
who will run the markets each Friday.

“Hawkesbury Harvest is a collective of farmers from the Sydney basin passionate
about the Hawkesbury region and its agricultural heritage,” said Hawkesbury Harvest
Secretary Alan Eagle.

“We’re really excited about giving farmers from across the Sydney basin the
opportunity to promote and sell their fresh, seasonal produce in the heart of the City.”
