There’s no doubt that Toko Restaurant + Bar, situated in the hub of Surry Hills, is one of the GLBT community’s favourite restaurants. It’s been open for almost two years and attracts a cult following of celebrities and business tycoons.

Despite having an amazing dinner menu, the venue also prides itself on the private dining room at lunch times. This new concept caters for up to 18 people making it the perfect escape from the office or for that perfect business luncheon.

The Japanese-style setting is divided into two sections – a five star eatery and a pre-dinner cocktails area.

Toko has a new head chef, Keita Abe, who prides himself on eye-catching arrangements and uses premium produce with a wide variety of locally sourced ingredients that complement the Japanese cuisine. The up-to-date food menus have been adapted to reflect seasonality of produce and continue to be enjoyed by regular patrons.

The drinks menu includes an extensive sake list, non-alcoholic cleansers and a comprehensive list of tempting cocktails. The bar food menu is taken directly from the restaurant menu so you are sure to find a tasty snack.

Before you head off for a night on the party strip make sure you sample the delicacies. Toko has just recently extended its operating hours from 11pm on Friday and Saturday evenings to midnight. The waiters are hot, the food is superb and the vibe is exhilarating – it’s a five star experience at Toko Restaurant + Bar.

info: Toko Restaurant + Bar is located at 490 Crown St, Surry Hills. Bookings on 8354 1140 or www.toko.com.au.
