HOLLYWOOD star Angelina Jolie has said she would be “thrilled” if her character in upcoming movie Maleficent was to be embraced by drag queens.
The Academy Award-winning actress made the comment at a UK press conference when asked what she thought of drag queens appropriating the look of the evil witch that she portrays in the soon-to-be-released Disney movie.
“I would be thrilled if it was embraced by the drag queens,” Jolie told the press gallery.
With Maleficent coming to Australian cinemas on Thursday, a few drag queen have already thought of ways they could pull the look of Jolie’s character.
Sydney’s Ms Rhuma Hazzet was one of the first to do so in Australia, sharing the below photo on her instagram account. The image has already garnered close to 500 likes and flood of positive comments.
Drag or not, how much do you want to dress up in fancy dress as fierce as Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent?
