“Paint Your Nails For Bruce”: a show of support for Bruce Jenner that started in Australia

A GLOBAL social media moment to show support for former US Olympian-turned-reality TV star Bruce Jenner who recently announced he is a trans woman started in Sydney, Australia.

The movement has seen men and women painting their finger nails and posting photos of it on social media along with the hashtag #PaintYourNailsForBruce.

Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer, which was watched by more than 17 million people in the US, sparked radio personality Kyle Sandilands to paint his nails as a sign of support through his radio station’s Twitter account. Since then countless others have followed suit:

In the interview with Sawyer, Jenner hopped that with his public announcement he would “be able to have my nail polish on long enough that it actually chips off“.

  1. I’m sorry to hear the Star Observer is giving this shock jock coverage – it’s obvious he’s jumping onto yet another cause to help his battered image – Sandilands – not Bruce that is. After what Sandilands called me (and others) he should never be believed when it comes to supporting the LGBTI community :-(
