Reece Witherspoon on straight actors who turn down gay roles: “lighten up”

HOLLYWOOD star Reese Witherspoon has suggested that straight actors who refuse to play gay roles should “lighten up”.

“I think gay people are able to play straight roles; straight people are able to play gay roles,” the actress told website PrideSource.

“The whole point of being an actor is to transform. If people don’t understand that we need to be malleable in our sexuality, then I think they need to lighten up.”

The comments comes in the lead up to Witherspoon’s upcoming movie Hot Pursuit which is in cinemas across the US on May 8.

In the film, the Oscar-winning actress at one point has to fake being a lesbian, complete with on-screen kiss with Modern Family star Sofia Vergara.

  1. Alex Dimitriades is definitely a true actor. Remember him in Head On when he was in a scene giving a blowjob. Any other straight actors willing to even simulate that?

  2. Well that it would be really difficult to fake being a lesbian and having to kiss Sofia Vergara….all my straight girl friends want to pash Sofia Vergars
