SARA Gilbert, known for her role as Darlene Connor in 90s sitcom Roseanne and more recently as co-host on CBS’s The Talk, has married well-known songwriter and musician Linda Perry.
The newlyweds have been together since 2011, after an engagement since last April.
Perry had popped the question during a musical picnic that she had planned, which Gilbert recalled to her teary-eyed co-hosts in an episode of their chat show.
“She goes to her backpack and she pulls out these t-shirts and the first t-shirt says ‘will’ and then puts on another t-shirt and it says, ‘you,’ then ‘marry,’ ‘me’,” she said.
“And the last one’s a question mark… It’s the most amazing proposal ever.”
The Talk co-host Julie Chen this week described the wedding as “magical, it was the most beautiful ceremony.” More details and photos from their big day are expected to be shared on the show next week.
Gilbert has also had a recurring role in Big Bang Theory, alongside former Roseanne co-star Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard.
Meanwhile, Perry gained global attention as the front woman of 90s rock band 4 Non Blondes, who were most notable for their hit song What’s Up. She has since gone on to write songs for singers such as Solange Knowles, Alicia Keys, Robbie Williams, Melissa Etheridge, and more – and she has major songwriting and producing credits on P!nk’s Missundaztood and Christina Aguilera’s Stripped albums.
Her most popular song to date has been Aguilera’s Beautiful - which peaked at no.2 in the US Billboard charts and no.1 in the UK and Australian ARIA charts. Other number one songs written or co-written by Perry in Australia include P!nk’s Get The Party Started and Gwen Stefani’s What You Waiting For?
